About AmicusX

AmicusX is an online platform that reflects the evolving dynamics of legal education. This website is the result of the enthusiasm of a group of law students, lawyers and laymen, who have come together to decode and cognize the multi-faceted understanding of law. The website offers its visitors an opportunity to read about different legal aspects through its blogs, but the offering does not end there. AmicusX aims to fill in the gap between the learnings from law school and the requirements of the legal practice. AmicusX connects to law students through internships, competitions and other different types of engagements.

 

Eligibility:

Any student of the 3 year LL.B. Course, or the 5 year Integrated Law Courses, or the LL.M. Course is eligible to participate.

 

Themes:

The broad themes are as follows:

1. Constitutional Law

2. Criminal Law

3. Human Rights Law

4. Cyber Law

5. Intellectual Property Law

6. Banking Law

7. Company Law

An essay can be based on any of the above broad themes.

 

Word Limit: 5000 words (inclusive of footnotes)

 

Formatting Guidelines:

1. Font Style: Times New Roman

2. Heading: 14, Bold

3. Sub-heading: 12, Bold

4. Body Text: 12.

5. Foot Notes: 10

6. Citation: Any uniform citation style.

 

General Guidelines:

1. An essay is allowed to have a maximum of 2 co-authors.

2. References are compulsory. Any statistical data, fact or any other informative text when being used, need to have references to it in the form of footnotes/bibliography/webliography. References should be authentic in order to be reliable.

3. Submissions that are plagiarised to a level of more than 20% will not be accepted.

4. Once you submit your essay to us, you can publish it any where you want. Submission to us will not be a bar to you from submitting it elsewhere. 

5. Registration to be made through Google Form only.

6. After payment of the registration fees, fill in the Google Form and you will be provided a Submission Link soon.

Entry fee:

300 INR for single author essays, 350 INR for co-authored essays. Kindly download or take a screenshot of the payment made, as it will be required during filling the registration form.

 

Prize:

1. 1st Prize: 4,000 INR + Certificate of Merit + Internship Opportunity at AmicusX

2. 2nd Prize: 2,000 INR + Certificate of Merit + Internship Opportunity at AmicusX

3. Top 10 submissions will get ranked certificates of merit.

4. Certificate of Participation for all.

Last Date of Registration: August 19, 2020 (Extended)

Last Date of Essay Submission: September 03, 2020 (Extended)

Last Date of Result Declaration: September 24, 2020 (Extended)
